Stellantis has acquired the intellectual property rights and patents of British IT firm CloudMade.
The automaker says the asset deal will support the mid-term development of its STLA SmartCockpit, a virtual platform designed to digitally integrate drivers and vehicles.
Specialising in smart and data-driven automotive solutions, CloudMade has created an AI-powered framework, a cloud and software development kit for collecting and analysing automotive data sets.
By using CloudMade’s technology, the automaker says this will enable predictive maintenance and diagnostics to identify and schedule maintenance needs.
Yves Bonnefont, Stellantis Chief Software Officer said: “The acquisition of CloudMade’s pioneering AI capabilities will accelerate our development journey on STLA SmartCockpit and help us deliver our Dare Forward 2030 goals.”
As part of the acquisition, 44 engineers and software developers from CloudMade will be joining Stellantis.
