Stellantis said on Thursday it would announce a full line of “renewed connected” vans on Monday 23 October and launch the new (North American markets) Ram ProMaster EV this year.
This is part of the automaker’s much-hyped ‘Dare Forward 2030’ strategic plan with Stellantis noting its commercial cehicles (CV) business accounts for 1.6m unit sales and a third of annual revenue, plus EUR5bn in “connected services revenue as a 360 degree preferred business partner”.
Following the new van reveal on Monday, Stellantis will be fielding six brands, five vans, 10 pickup trucks and one “micro mobility offer”.
North America will see four electrified pickup trucks over the next two years, including a new Ram 1500 REV in 2024 with a hydrogen model to come.
The automaker builds CVs in the UK, Europe, North and South America and claims “undisputed” commercial vehicle leadership in Enlarged Europe with 40% market share in BEVs and 31% overall, the top position in South America, second in Middle East and Africa and third in North America with 20,000 dedicated sales and service outlets and manufacturing in 12 countries.
The automaker said all of its new vans and pickup trucks would be connected by the end of 2023 (with over the air updates from 2026 on) and would also offer new connected service packs, such as “preventive maintenance”, “task management” and “eco drive coaching” to improve users’ efficiency.

It is also developing a digital system for aftermarket converters and upfitters, using so called e-Power Take Off technology (which uses the installed energy of the vehicle instead of adding additional batteries) to reduce lead time, linking customers, dealers and converters with the manufacturer.
The Stellantis CV brands are Citroen, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall.
The automaker is targeting a doubling of commercial vehicle revenue by 2030, versus 2021, a 40% EV sales mix and EUR5bn in service revenue on top.
A revamped North America model line would include electrified van and pickups, including the Ram ProMaster EV and 2025 Ram 1500 REV.
“Jean-Philippe Imparato, head of Stellantis’ CV business unit, said in a statement: “As customer expectations grow more complex and diverse, we are here to address each specific need with a dedicated solution.”
The Pro One strategy
• The claimed largest product offering in the industry spanning vans, pickups and micro-mobility
• Continued zero emission leadership with complementary solutions such as hydrogen and retrofit. For second generation BEVs, more range without compromising capabilities offered by internal combustion versions
• Tailormade and seamless customer experience with 20,000 sales and service outlets, a charging infrastructure offered by Free2move Charge to deliver tailored EV charging and energy management to customers, including hardware, software, installation, and services plus financial products through Stellantis Financial Services
• A new digital converter/upfitter infrastructure to reduce lead time
• 100% connected services – all vans and pickup trucks connected and activated by end of 2023
• A global manufacturing network of 15 commercial vehicle plants in Europe, North America, South America, Middle East and Africa to support the plan’s global ambition
The Pro One strategy is also piloting a retrofit program with Qinomic, using Stellantis’ circular economy expertise, to extend the life span of existing internal combustion van fleets via an “affordable, trustworthy electrification conversion”.
Stellantis said it would offer a new dedicated, factory built version of its large delivery van, with equipment and features aimed at improving efficiency of drivers, including a roll up door at the back and a ‘pocket door’.
“The renewal of the entire Stellantis van range, based on second generation electric [models], along with the electrification of four pickups from 2024 onwards, are at the heart of the ‘Pro One’ project…. and [our] ambition to reinforce our international leadership in commercial vehicles,” said Xavier Peugeot, SVP of the CV unit.
