Management Occupations drive automotive industry hiring activity
Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Management Occupations, which accounted for 10% of the total new job postings in Q1 2024 and were down by 16% year-on-year. Second highest were Office and Administrative Support Occupations, which accounted for 8% and drop by 31% year-on-year, and third highest were Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations, which were 42% of the new job postings and 50% lower year-on-year.

The highest number of jobs were posted by AutoCanada with 339, followed by Canadian Tire with 230, while the highest increase was at Magna International at 6%.
